Giuseppe Castagnino (1886-1966)
Chiavari (Genova) 1886 - 1966. The son of a woodworker and cooper, Giuseppe Castagnino is not a well-known author, but his style is unique and inspired. He was self-taught, but he had the opportunity to improve his skill working for a short period for Giuseppe Fiorini in Munich. The cello hereby represented is a tipical sample of his first period and it is inspired by the models and the work of the early Cesare Candi. The instruments of Giuseppe Castagnino always show fine tonal qualities.
